In the latest episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes had their final confrontation before WrestleMania 39. During their last showdown at WrestleMania SmackDown, Cody was the first to appear, expressing gratitude to the fans for their support since his return to the company. However, he still feels “broken” inside and believes that beating Reigns to become the new WWE Unified Universal Champion is the cure. He addressed Reigns directly, stating that he is not his father Dusty or his brother Dustin, but “The American Nightmare” who will end his reign.
Roman, accompanied by Paul Heyman, made his entrance and carefully observed his challenger. He then took the microphone, threatening to demand that Los Angeles recognize him before ordering Cody to acknowledge him. With the WWE Championship raised over his opponent, Reigns brought an end to the episode of the blue brand.

“The American Nightmare” has his sights set on conquering the title and honoring the memory of his father, the legendary Dusty Rhodes.
Cody has made it clear since his return to the company that he intends to win the company’s biggest prize. However, before he could achieve that, he had a memorable rivalry with Seth Rollins that ended in injury, keeping him out of programming for six months. But Rhodes returned in style, winning the men’s Royal Rumble match and earning his direct pass to WrestleMania 39.

Since then, Cody has had a tense rivalry with Reigns and The Bloodline, delivering personal and emotional promos with “The Tribal Chief” and Paul Heyman. He even managed to defeat Solo Sikoa in the last episode of Monday Night Raw, becoming the only fighter to beat the Samoan cleanly on the main roster.
The main event of WrestleMania 39 will see Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns face off, putting the finishing touch to the most important show of the year. In less than two days, we will know if Rhodes will succeed in fulfilling his dream and ending one of the longest reigns in WWE history.
