Reigns, who has been on a reign of dominance for almost a thousand days, managed to retain his title against a determined Rhodes.

The match kicked off with Rhodes quickly taking control, locking Reigns in several holds to show he meant business. However, Reigns fought back with a right-hand punch that shook up Rhodes.

The challenger then threw Reigns out of the ring, where he was momentarily distracted by Solo Sikoa. This allowed Reigns to strike, and he quickly gained the upper hand.

Rhodes tried to regain control by hitting Reigns with a Scoop Slam and a Cody Cutter, but Reigns was resilient and managed to stay in the game. Solo Sikoa tried to create an opportunity for Reigns with Rhodes’s belt, but the referee quickly ejected him from the ring, leaving Reigns without reinforcements outside.

Despite Reigns’s dominance, Rhodes managed to land a Cross Rhodes, but it was not enough to take down the Tribal Chief. Reigns responded with a Superman Punch and a Spear, but Rhodes countered with a Figure Four, which Reigns escaped from miraculously.

The crowd went wild when Rhodes got up from Reigns’s first Spear attempt of the night. Reigns then pulled out his signature move, the Guillotine, but Rhodes managed to break free and accidentally knocked out the referee in the process.

The Usos then appeared and attacked Rhodes, but Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, the new champions, came to Rhodes’s aid and led the score.

After a series of finishing moves, including the Helluva Kick for Reigns and the Floppin’ Flop for Cody Rhodes, Rhodes attempted a third Cross Rhodes to secure the win. However, Solo returned and hit the Samoan Spike, allowing Reigns to hit the Spear and secure the pin count.

With this win, Reigns retains the Unified WWE Universal Championship in his sixth defense. He has maintained a reign of 945 days and 28 successful defenses since Payback 2020. Reigns also added the WWE Championship to his collection 364 days ago at WrestleMania 38 (Night 2) by defeating Brock Lesnar.

Roman Reigns unified both titles by defeating Lesnar again at WrestleMania 39. It’s safe to say that Reigns is currently one of the most dominant forces in the WWE.
