WWE has been trying to make NXT a solid third brand of the company by bringing main roster superstars to the black-and-gold show. This strategy has proven to be successful and boosted the ratings, as we saw with Seth Rollins vs Bron Breakker match last week.
Now WWE wants to continue this trend and we can expect more main-roster stars to show up in NXT. One big name that is being considered is Ronda Rousey, who is scheduled to unify the women’s tag team titles with NXT tag team titles tonight on SmackDown.
Ronda Rousey and her partner Shayna Baszler are the current WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, while Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn hold the NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles.

Dave Meltzer noted in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE discussed Ronda Rousey’s name to show up in NXT and hopes she can boost the ratings of the show.
“There are plans for more major stars to work NXT like Rollins did this week. One name that was at least talked about was Rousey, or perhaps even having Rousey & Baszler defend the women’s tag titles there.” H/T Ringside News
