Full Segment CM Punk returns to WWE SmackDown
CM Punk is back in the WWE and he is not holding back. The former WWE Champion made his return to the company last month at Survivor Series after ten years.
On Friday night’s episode of Smackdown, Punk delivered a passionate and provocative promo that addressed some of the biggest names in the wrestling industry like Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens, LA Knight, and Randy Orton.
Punk started by saying that he was happy to be at the top of the 9:00 hour and that he would not get his time cut by anyone. He then asked the fans where they wanted him to sign on Raw or SmackDown, He said that he was partly going to leave it up to them, but he also had some ideas of his own.
Punk then switched gears and said that he had heard that some people were not happy with his happy-go-lucky attitude and that they wanted him to be more spicy. He obliged by putting his feet up on the couch and calling out some of the biggest names in the business.
He started with Cody Rhodes, his former rival and friend, and said that he could tell some stories about him. He then moved on to Roman Reigns, the current Universal Champion and the leader of the Bloodline.
CM Punk acknowledged Reigns and congratulated him on his success, but also reminded him that he was the original Paul Heyman guy and that Heyman was his wise man first.
Punk then mentioned Reigns’ cousins, the Usos, and said that he was not sure whether he wanted to go to Raw and hang out with Jey Uso, or stay on Smackdown and scrap with Jimmy Uso.
He said that if he fought Jimmy, he would need backup, and he wondered if he could trust Randy Orton, who he had a history with, or his partner for the night, Seth Rollins.
Punk then said Rollins’ name with enthusiasm, and the crowd cheered. He said that Rollins was one guy that he was pretty positive that would tag with him, and that he was looking forward to working with him. He then mentioned Kevin Owens, who was also in the crowd, and said that he was interesting, but also prickly.
He said that he and Owens were too much alike and that he did not know who would feel comfortable working with someone who randomly punches people backstage.
Punk then said that everyone was happy to see him, even JBL, who was on commentary. He said that everyone welcomed him back with open arms, except for one guy. He then took a shot at Seth Rollins’ wife, Becky Lynch, and said that Rollins was not even the man in his own household. He mocked Rollins’ theme song and said that it was all he had.
Punk then concluded by saying that he was having fun and that he was glad to be back home on this journey with the fans. He then dropped the mic and left the ring, leaving the fans buzzing with excitement and anticipation.
CM Punk’s promo was one of the most electrifying and entertaining segments in recent WWE history. He showed that he still has the charisma, the passion, and the skills to captivate the audience and stir up controversy. He also set up some potential feuds and matches with some of the top stars in the company, especially Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins.
Whether he signs with Raw or Smackdown, or whether he wins the Royal Rumble and main events WrestleMania, one thing is clear: CM Punk is back, and he is ready to make an impact.
