Rey Mysterio Reflects on WWE Hall of Fame Induction & Strained Relationship with Son Dominik

Rey Mysterio was honored to be named the first inductee of the 2023 WWE Hall of Fame during Friday Night SmackDown.

However, his celebration was cut short when his son Dominik interrupted the proceedings, expressing his disbelief at his father’s nomination.

Dominik went on to criticize his father, citing the numerous times he missed important family events to pursue his wrestling career.

After the show, Rey Mysterio spoke with Megan O’Brien Rey Mysterio discussed his induction into the 2023 WWE Hall of Fame and his strained relationship with his son Dominik.

Megan O’Brien acknowledged the ongoing tension between Rey and Dominik, saying, “You know, we’ve been watching this unfold for months and things between you and Dominik don’t seem to be getting any better, especially on such an important night.”

Rey Mysterio replied, “I’m sorry to cut you off there but I’d rather not comment on the situation with my son. It’s been very difficult for me.”

Megan then shifted the conversation to Rey’s induction into the WWE Hall of Fame, asking him to describe the emotions he was feeling.

Rey said, “I’ll tell you what, this right here is the best feeling in the world. It’s an accolade that so many of us superstars dream of having one day, you know, and at the end of the day, the people that love me the most will be right by my side.” Transcription by Wrestling Unseen
