The 2021 SummerSlam show has become the most-watched show in the company’s history. WWW chairman Vince McMahon is pleased with this, but executives from the USA network that broadcast Monday Night Raw are furious with WWE, they say. All the big superstars who have come since last 1 year appeared on SmackDown. The company is discriminating between both the shows. Andrew Zarian of MatMen wrestling revealed this in a recent podcast. Here is what he stated.
“Very angry” with the fact that there is “so much difference” between the two brands. They are irritated that they have been months, a year, in which the great talent goes to SmackDown. They were already very unhappy with the dismissal of Bray Wyatt, but this has increased the frustration, “the chain would have asked WWE that the rosters be “matched” in the next Draft, which however will not take place until October.
Note that over the past few months, the network is not happy with WWE, they expressed their displeasure over the release of Bray Wyatt, as well as their objections to the pre-tap beyond of NXT. The USA network also strongly objected to the steel cage match between Roman Reigns & Rey Mysterio that took place on SmackDown, so WWE had to held a steel cage match between Bobby Lashley and Xavier Woods on Raw as well.
The USA network has strongly told WWE that the company should correct the distinction of Superstars in the upcoming draft. There’s currently a little over a month in the draft and Brock Lesnar and Becky have been advertised for tonight’s SmackDown show, so tensions between WWE and the network could escalate.
