WWE has announced that Gunther will face Drew McIntyre for the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam.
Drew McIntyre returns to WWE programming at Money in the Bank after a few months of hiatus and attacked Gunther with a claymore, desiring to face the Ring General for the IC title.
Earlier tonight on Raw, The Imperium leader and Drew McIntyre came face to face. McIntyre challenged Gunther for the title tonight, but Gunther refused, stating that he had already defeated McIntyre at Clash at the Castle. Ludwig Kaiser interrupted Drew. McIntyre then said that Ludwig should be the leader of Imperium instead of Gunther.

Drew challenged Ludwig to a match, and Kaiser accepted the challenge. During the match, Mcintyre put Gunther through the announce table. After the show, WWE made it official that Gunther will defend his IC title against Scottish Warrior at SummerSlam on August 5th in Detroit.
